24 Hours of Deep Listening 2023 @ Asgaard Gentbrugge update

Our mental health part of 24 Hours of Deep Listening is finally completed! We have taken the utmost care and time to make this happen. We didn’t want to make haste of this. All because of this:

The 18th of November, the day the festival takes place, is also the international survivors of suicide loss day. The last couple of years suicide has been an important topic within our community. We’ve been confronted once too many with the big void of loss. Now what? How now? And a lot more questions surfaced. It was clear that a lot of people were struggling with this. This is why we decided to give this heavy topic a place within 24 Hours of Deep Listening.

What’s to be expected? Muzieklab will record a podcast live with Wolf Vanwymeersch. We know Wolf as a solo artist, and as a member of The Van Jets and Elefant, but we also know him as an artist that goes deep. And that’s exactly what he felt he needed to do after the suicide of his father. Muzieklab’s Elias and Wolf will have a conversation about this where Wolf will not only talk about giving this dark period a place, he will also show the healing power of music.

Furthermore a conversation will take place where Iwein Denayer (CAW worker) will dialogue with Anett Buytaers and Dave Van der Sypt, two people with powerful testimonies. He will do this backed by Piet De Bruyn, the co-director of the Centre of Prevention of Suicide.

After that, Wolf Vanwymeersch will make the healing power of music audible, as he will kick off the musical part of the festival.
The mental health part is open for everyone. Only the musical part is reserved for ticket holders. Of course, all support is more than welcome. You can still get tickets through Asgaard Gentbrugge by clicking on the button below. Are you buying a ticket with your UiTPAS?
