Kiss The Anus of A Black Cat – An Interlude to the Outermost

STEF Heeren, the man behind the ever changing constellation of Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat, is constantly evolving and exploring the fringes of the avant garde musical fabric. While his new work is pushing ever further in the world of analogue synths, his band started out as a dark neo-folkish project. His first two albums came out on the Belgian experimental music label (K-RAA-K)3, but are sold out for quite some time now and never were available on vinyl. Being long time fans of KTAOABC, 9000 Records by Consouling Sounds deemed it time to release the first two albums for the very first time on vinyl, and give it a new life on cd.

On their sophomore effort An Interlude to the Outermostreleased in 2007, Kiss The Anus of A Black Cat expands on the sound they crafted on the debut album. The “apocalyptic folk”, as KTAOABC’s music was dubbed, was brought up another notch. The album really sounds like a “band album”, which is reflected in the arrangements and production of the album. This (psychedelic) rock approach of the neo-folk, or dark folk, genre sounded fresh and exciting, and paved the way for STEF’s further explorations.
